The most creative response we’ve seen to Amazon’s new bookstore in Seattle is this tweet from Paul Constant.
Reward for the 1st person who takes a photo of themselves buying from an indie bookstore on their phone while standing in an Amazon Books.

And indeed, one Allison Stieger took him up on the challange. Read the whole story in the Seattle Review of Books.
We actually get a different sort of reverse show-rooming all the time at the Book Den. People walk up to the counter and show us the book they want on Amazon on their cellphone and ask, “Do you have this book?” Often we do.
We wanted to do something along the same lines as Paul Constant’s challenge, but we don’t have an Amazon bookstore in Santa Barbara. And asking people to show us a book on Amazon’s web site would just drive traffic to Amazon (and they don’t need the help). So we came up with this:
We would rather people show-room us on our own web site. So come in and show us any book – new or used – on OUR website on your phone (www.bookden.com) and get 20% off the price of that book.
Or, order on our website and, if your zip code is between 93013 and 93117, get free media mail shipping.
Offer good through 6 PM next Saturday, November 14th.
Check out the Facebook page of the Curious Cup. They have an offer going, too.
